If you've searched for "EPF dividend 2026," here's the direct answer: it hasn't been announced yet, and won't be for several more months. That's not a non-answer — knowing exactly when it's coming, and what's already confirmed in the meantime, is genuinely useful.
The pattern: dividends are announced the following February
EPF declares each calendar year's dividend the following year, typically in the last week of February, with the amount credited to members' accounts on or around 1 March. The 2025 dividend — 6.15% for both Simpanan Konvensional and Simpanan Shariah — was announced on 28 February 2026 and credited 1 March 2026, with a total payout of RM79.6 billion. Following that same pattern, the 2026 dividend won't be announced until roughly late February 2027.
What's actually confirmed right now
The most recent declared rate is the 2025 dividend: 6.15% for Simpanan Konvensional, 6.15% for Simpanan Shariah. That's the rate currently being credited and the most relevant figure for any planning you're doing today — it is not the 2026 rate, which doesn't exist yet.
Why the confusion happens
Two things get mixed up every year: people search "EPF dividend [current year]" expecting a rate that's actually announced the following year, and some sites publish "forecast" or "expected" figures for the still-unannounced year that read like confirmed numbers. Treat any specific 2026 percentage you see quoted before late February 2027 as speculation, not fact — including anything published here before that date.
What determines the rate, and why it's never guaranteed
EPF's dividend is not a fixed interest rate — it's declared annually based on the fund's actual investment performance that year, split (since 2017) into a conventional and a Shariah-compliant rate. By law, the minimum guaranteed rate is 2.50% a year for Simpanan Konvensional; every year's actual declared rate has been at or above that floor, but nothing above the legal minimum is promised in advance.
The historical range, for context
Over the last decade, the conventional rate has moved between 5.20% (2020, the pandemic year) and 6.90% (2017), averaging in the mid-to-high 5% to low 6% range most years. That's a reasonable planning band — not a prediction — until the actual 2026 rate is declared.
