Statutory minimums (Employment Act 1955, s.60E)
- Less than 2 years of service: 8 days a year
- 2 to 5 years of service: 12 days a year
- More than 5 years of service: 16 days a year
These are minimums that only apply to employees covered by the Employment Act (currently those earning RM4,000/month or less, plus manual/machinery-operating workers regardless of wage). Many employers offer more generous leave in the employment contract — always check yours first.
