How SOCSO categories work
- Category 1 (Malaysian/PR, below 60): covers both Employment Injury and Invalidity Pension schemes — employee 0.5%, employer 1.75%.
- Category 2 (Malaysian/PR, 60+): Employment Injury only — employer 1.25%, no employee share.
- Non-Malaysian employees: employer-only Employment Injury coverage at 1.25%.
