About GajiJelas

GajiJelas exists because too many salary calculators either hide their working or lock the result behind a form before showing it. We built this to be the opposite: transparent about the math, and free to use without a trade of your data.

What we're trying to do

Give Malaysian employees, job seekers, HR staff and small business owners a fast, accurate way to see take-home pay after EPF, SOCSO, EIS and PCB — and show the working behind every number, not just the total.

How we source and check rates

Every contribution rate, wage ceiling and tax bracket in this calculator is sourced from the official KWSP, PERKESO and LHDN publications listed on our rate changes page. We recheck them whenever a Budget speech, gazette order, or rate change is announced, and mark the exact date each rate set was last verified. When a rate changes mid-year, we keep the previous rate set available so you can compare before/after.

Where we simplify, and why

A few things are genuinely simplified for clarity, and we say so wherever they show up: EPF uses the exact percentage method rather than KWSP's rounded wage-band table, PCB spreads annual tax evenly across 12 months rather than running the full bonus-schedule formula, and non-Malaysian is treated as non-resident for tax by default. None of these change the answer by more than a few Ringgit for most salaries, but we'd rather you know the assumption than discover it the hard way.

Why nothing you type ever reaches a server

Every calculation on this site runs in JavaScript inside your own browser tab. We built it this way on purpose — a salary calculator is exactly the kind of tool that shouldn't need to know who you are to do its job. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail.
